UPCAT QUALIFIERS FROM LIBON A BOUNTY THIS YEAR
Starting from 3 in 2008, this year it incresed to 7 qualifiers to UP. Libon was able to produce double the number of passers in the UPCAT compared from the previous year. It is another “Proudly Libon moment” for us Libongueños knowing that we have an increasing number of passers in the entrance exam in the premier state university in the Philippines.
These lucky 7 passers originated from 5 secondary schools in the town such as LAIHS (Libon-Agro Industrial High School which produced 3 passers namely: Hazel Shine Santos, Shela Jean Armillo and Jone Sario; San Vicente HS - Cyril Satimbre; San Agustin HS- Kristine Ann Secretario; Rawis HS - Rose Ann Lubatan;
The Local Government Unit of Libon commits to assist every qualifier ten thousand (Php 10,000.00) per year as school subsidy, for the duration of the course they have chosen to study in UP. It is to ensure that our bright students get a chance to go to STATE University, especially those who come from financially handicapped families. We are the only town in Albay so far who is giving this kind of privilege to those who are mentally gifted, yet financial challenged.
This coming month of May, in partnership with UP Pahinungod, we are starting on LGU’s 4th batch of free AAP/UPCAT review for another batch of examinees. Aside from the review, we are also providing free food, free materials and UPCAT exam day assistance.
After all, who doesn’t want to study and graduate in the country’s best? It is a very rare opportunity and a chance of a lifetime.
LGU Libon makes their dreams come true.
